Monbulk Fire Brigade was formed on the 6th September 1941. The current station was built over and replaced our old station in 1977 the CFA as a body provided approximately $12,000 for the renovations. Later in 1986 we then added a down stairs extension which was fully funded by the brigade by various fund raising events. Our initial equipment were Beaters and Rakehoes only. Our first brigade owned vehicle in 1947 was an ex-army blitz later in 1957 we received our first CFA owned vehicle an Austin tanker, then in 1966 it was replaced by yet another Austin tanker. The brigade purchased an Ex-American Willy's Jeep front mounted pumper in 1967, it was replaced by a Ciglo Inter in 1976 by brigade, Our 3rd vehicle was a Ford Panel van purchased by the brigade in 1975/76. The 4th vehicle was a Ford Trader Type 2 Pumper by Brigade in 1983 and also used as a Rescue vehicle. The Inter and Ford Pumper were handed over to the CFA as capital donations and have since been replaced with CFA Vehicles, the brigade now only replaces our Rescue support every 3 years.
