Purpose:

Primary Rescue appliance for the Dandenongs.  This vehicle carries crew and equipment to extricate persons
trapped in motor vehicles, industrial machinery, farm machinery etc.. This vehicle also carries rope rescue
equipment to access and retrieve injured persons from cliff's, steep embankments, tree's, and towers up to

100m in height.

 

Water Tank : 1400lts (This water tank is not provided for it to be a fire fighting vehicle, but on occasions it may be the first appliance on scene at a rescue incident

and it is necessary to provide fire protection to rescue personnel and the casualties until a fire appliance arrives)

Air Tools (Ratchet, chisels, high pressure air bags)

First Aid (First Aid Kits, Oxyviva, neck brace, spine boards, K.E.D)

Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus and spare cylinders

Chemical Splash suits (To be used in the event of a vehicle collision involving hazardous materials)

Purpose:

This vehicle provides support to the Rescue appliance.  It's ability to traverse steep and narrow roads around the

Dandenongs makes it invaluable in getting crew and equipment to a trapped person, even in off road

environments.

Hydraulic Combi-tool (combination cutters/spreaders)

Hydraulic Rams

Portable Hydraulic Pump

Hand Tools (Tool box, hacksaws, hammers, etc)

Cribbing (timber blocks & wedges)

Generator and lighting

Vehicle:

Isuzu FTR 800 2WD.

 

Crew capacity: 6

 

Purpose:

This vehicle provides the primary fire fighting for the township area of Monbulk, and supports all neighboring brigades.  Its pump capacity and good ground clearance makes it ideal for Urban interface fire fighting.

 

 

Water Tank : 2000lts

 

Pump:

Hatz "Silent Pak" model 3l40c air-cooled diesel engine of 36 kW capacityThe nominal capacity of the Regent fire pump is a maximum flow of 2500 ltrs per minute at 200 kpa, 2000 ltrs per minute at 700 kpa, and the pump can develop a closed pump pressure of 1050 kpa.

Crew capacity: 6

 

Purpose:

This vehicle is designed primarily for wildfire fighting, but can also combat small structure fires.  As many areas of Monbulk are not serviced by reticulated fire hydrants, water must be brought in by vehicles.  It's 4WD ability and high ground clearance ensures fires in remote areas can be accessed.

 

Water Tank : 3000lts

 

Pump:

GAMM  Mk 150 pump which is powered by a Lombardini 12LD435 diesel engine, the nominal capacity of the GAAM Mk 150 fire pump has a maximum flow of 900 ltrs per minute, 450 ltrs per minute at 700 kpa,  the pump can develop a closed pump pressured of 1150 kpa

Class A Foam (A chemical surfactant additive used to improve the use and effects of water during wildfires)

38mm & 64mm Hose

Suction Hose (for obtaining water from pools, creeks, tanks and dams)
